The Little Horse Who Crossed the River
The Little Horse Who Crossed the River
Once upon a time, there was a little horse who lived in a peaceful valley. One day, his mother asked him to go to the mill to grind some wheat. On his way, he had to cross a river. The little horse was hesitant because he didn't know how deep the water was.
He asked an old ox who was grazing nearby, "Uncle Ox, can you tell me how deep the river is?" The ox replied, "It's not deep at all, just up to my knees."
But then a squirrel on a tree branch called out, "Don't believe him! The river is very deep, it almost drowned me once!"
The little horse was confused and didn't know what to do. He thought about turning back, but he remembered his mother's trust in him. So, he decided to be brave and try crossing the river by himself.
As he stepped into the water, he found that the river was neither as shallow as the ox said nor as deep as the squirrel claimed. It was just right for him to cross safely.
From this experience, the little horse learned an important lesson: sometimes, we have to rely on ourselves to find the truth. Others' opinions can be helpful, but ultimately, we need to make our own judgments based on our own experiences.
This story teaches us that facing challenges and making decisions independently are important steps in our growth. Just like the little horse, we may encounter many uncertainties in life, but as long as we are brave enough to try, we will find that many difficulties are not as scary as they seem.
