绘制一幅完整门神画的过程，需经过设计画稿、蜡纸打点、粉饼上门、开脸、沥粉贴金等十几道工序。为了使门神画经久不褪色，画师们通常采用矿物颜料来作画，并调以适量的胶水加以固定。
