定义

过去完成时用于谈论在过去的另一个动作之前完成的动作。换句话说，它用来描述发生在过去的另一个事件之前的事件。过去完成时不是用来描述过去的特定时间，而是用来显示事件的顺序。

例如：

• Before I went to bed, I had brushed my teeth.
  在我上床睡觉之前，我刷了牙。

• '刷牙'是在'上床睡觉'之前;

• “上床睡觉”用的是过去时went to bed;

• 所以“刷牙”就用过去完成时had brushed.

• By the time I got to the party, everyone had left.
